movie review // Good Luck Chuck *** (out of 4)

I don’t know why I saw the preview and I wanted to see it. Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Dane Cook but anyway, I got a free pass to see it and jumped on it. I was surprised by how funny it was. I don’t remember laughing so hard at a movie since “Analyze This” (and that came out in 1999!). It was unexpected and light, and Dane Cook was actually lovable… man, if he was always like this I’d probably love him like everyone else (well, until he opens his mouth). Jessica Alba wasn’t overly annoying (she’s been annoying in everything she’s done since Dark Angel…) the movie kind of fell towards the middle and the end, but it was still enjoyable.

3 out of 4 stars for being a movie that would’ve been worth my 12 bucks. Movie critics have unabashedly boo’d this movie and that rests my case about them and their ignorance – they probably don’t know how to have a good time, anyway.
